Running intervals makes me feel powerful, though pukey.

I've been trying to add some hills to my runs. I can't really add a "day of hills" because, well, I'm on the lakeshore. So... no hills. I am thinking of doing some Alto hills with Emily on Saturday, but we'll see. I usually flake out on Saturday morning runs, for whatever reason, heh.

But, I can definitely add intervals. So, I did 4 miles of internvals - sprint a block, jog a block. Definitely intense. On the bright side, I'm becoming more obnoxiously vain about how running is changing me; my calves and quads are just getting a hint of definition, I've lost some weight, and I can fit back into some jeans that were too snug before. Additionally, it's easier to get up in the morning -- more routine, if you will.

Also, I get to buy sweet gear. I ordered some cool-weather running tights the other day, so hopefully they will be here soon, heh. Also; smartwool socks. <3

Fat chick to friends: And then he said I reminded him of Rosie O'Donnell! (starts hysterically crying)
Friend #1: How? Like because you're funny?
Fat chick: No! Because I'm fat! (continues crying)
(man walking by bursts out laughing)
Friend #2
: It's not funny!

Man walking away: Yes it is!

Asian conductor to ballerina on train carrying scissors, needle and thread: You know, I could confiscate those scissors. Since 9/11 they are really strict.
Ballerina: I'm just sewing my shoes, they're to cut the thread.
Asian conductor: Some of us would just take them. I won't, I'm just warning you. The needle too. There is this place in the neck you could stick the needle and paralyze someone. (walks away)
Ballerina's seatmate: He watches too many ninja movies.

Gotta do it. Sorry folks! I'm bumping all my tail prices. Shipping is taking too big of a chunk these days. So tails now start at $25. I can still do ears for $20 if they're with a tail, ears by themselves will have to be $25 too. :P

I just posted a new story to FA. It's one that I only just finished writing, so it's never been posted anywhere else. Most of my FA writing account is re-hashing the Blood and Fire site, or the old Library, but there are a couple things on there not posted anywhere else.

The one I just posted, Maiden Fair. (It's another dragon-maiden-knight story.)

And Rescue, much darker but also a dragon-maiden-knight story.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2652103/

I think everything else has been posted to my other story sites.

And I have to say that I'm having fun with the dragon-maiden-knight thing. Three of them completely finished now. The other three are all plotted out in broad outline, and all have been started as well, though only one of them has more than a page as yet. Hopefully I'll have that one done soon. :)

Guy #1: So I literally threw the books at her. And I said, "What's the point anymore? We fight like cats and dogs every time..."
Guy #2: So maybe we should all move in together in one big house! And we could marry each other's wives!
Guy #3: Yeah! Maybe...?

With additional thoughts in parentheses.

the-ruins

The Ruins – Ew. (I read and absolutely loved Scott Smith’s first novel, and so I was intrigued when I heard that his second novel, The Ruins, has been turned  into a film. Story’s pretty much straightforward. To be fair to it, it does have a pretty freaky premise.)

Lars and the Real Girl – Aw. (Yes, took me quite a while to finally see this film. Roger Ebert, in his review, described Ryan Gosling’s Lars as “serene”. Yes, that’s the word for it. Serene. Despite the fact that he brings an anatomically correct sex doll everywhere he goes in this small, cold town. Watch this one.)

Chuck (first few episodes) – Hee. (“So you’re saying I should just stay in this car, and not do anything?” “That’s right.” “Let’s do this.” Me: *rofl*)

Coffee and dinner with Jaykie’s friends JME and BJ at CBTL/Pepper Steak.

jme and bj

Their names make them sound like robots or hardware, but they’re people, and really nice, interesting ones at that. Glad to meet you guys. : )

(JME showed me a series of pictures of Jaykie and BJ cooking nilagang giniling, but in the photos the guys looked like they were in a meth lab. Cooking nilagang giniling.)

Earlier Jaykie handed  me a copy of Ender’s Game, which of course made me squeal like a crazy fangirl. I read Ender’s Shadow first -  a dick nerd move – and I’ve been looking everywhere for a copy of Game. And here it is howeeeeeee.

endersgame

But of course I can’t read that yet, for  I have been condemned (CONDEMNED!) to read this first:

thrones

It’s an 800+-page monster. Good luck to me.

I've been having fun on Facebook. It's been at my nephews and adorable nieces expense. I've been freaking them out.. Massive insurmountable difficulties, been treating them like a regular rash. Mortgage defaults ? Hah ! Mail the keys back to the bank. Now, an unoccupied house is _THEIR_ problem. After 6 years your credit will be restored and you won't be in negetive equity by then. So I began to think, what are our fears based on ? really ? what's behind them all. ? Experience , or expectation ? If it's expectation, where does THAT come from ? From some snide little marketing guy ? We need to turn off, tune in, drop out some more. Over and out baby !

I am lying on the couch with my laptop, downloading electronic music and then listening to it. It's a damn good time. I already worked 8 hours today, and now I don't feel pressed to do anything at all. Tomorrow I will phone about that back care yoga class, and do dishes and get other things accomplished. Today is for lazing around.
